Decarbonization of Industry: The Path Toward Carbon Neutrality

The industrial sector emits more than 9 gigatons (GT) of CO₂ per year, driven primarily by emissions from the cement, chemicals, and steel sectors. In this report, we introduce a framework for assessing the technologies for decarbonizing industry. It is used to define the challenge of decarbonizing an industrial sector by categorizing its decarbonization technologies according to their complexity and ease of adoption.
