Baylie Schott is a research associate at Lux, contributing to the Materials and Manufacturing team’s coverage of synthetic biology. In this role, she investigates technologies used to engineer biological components into novel systems to enhance sustainability. Baylie has also contributed to studies characterizing microbial protease families, with a primary focus on Staphylococcus aureus research. Prior to joining Lux, Baylie worked at the University of South Florida. She holds an M.Sc. in microbiology, with a special interest in bacterial genetics.
