Hikari Nakano is Chief Engineer at Nuvve Japan, leading the engineering team behind the company’s vehicle-to-grid (V2G) business in Japan — from charger and vehicle integration to the optimization software that lets EV fleets participate in electricity markets. Nakano joined Nuvve in 2018 as an Algorithm Engineer and served as Senior Software Engineer before taking the current role, contributing to Japan’s METI-backed V2G demonstration projects with Toyota Tsusho and Chubu Electric Power. Earlier research at Nagoya University and the University of Delaware covered V2G, home energy management, and market aggregation, resulting in several publications and a patent.
