Hannah Moshay is a research associate at Lux Research, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, contributing to the Agrifood and CPG team’s coverage of digital agriculture, regenerative agriculture, and genome editing. In this role, she provides insight on how clients can navigate emerging technologies that advance data-driven decisions while aligning their operations with current and validated sustainability standards.
Prior to joining Lux, Hannah worked at North Carolina State University (NCSU) and the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). At NCSU, she supported the university’s research and Extension program in organic field crop production in North Carolina and the Southeast. In her position, she represented NCSU in the nationwide USDA-funded Transition to Organic Partnerships Program. At USDA-NIFA, Hannah supported research programs in soil health and water quantity and quality. She also contributed as an author to the agencywide Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan.
She holds a B.A. in environmental studies from Brandeis University and an M.Sc. in sustainable water management from Tufts University, specializing in the water-food-energy nexus, focusing on water quantity challenges in agriculture in the Ogallala Aquifer region. Hannah is passionate about pragmatic solutions for sustainable agriculture and driven by thinking about the ways food and fiber production shape the world. In her free time, Hannah enjoys hiking, gardening, and birdwatching.
