Lauren Gilhooly, Ph.D., is a Toronto-based senior anthropologist and client delivery and advisory lead at Lux Research. As a trusted adviser, Lauren helps clients within the CPG sector develop consumer-centric research questions to uncover implicit motivations and beliefs that influence purchasing behavior across a variety of product categories, from skin care to financial health. She draws on her expertise in anthropology, tourism, and conservation to help clients make sense of the complex relationships between consumers and the world around them, both locally and globally. Lauren is passionate about helping organizations bridge cultural gaps, fostering innovation and sustainability in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
Prior to joining Lux, Lauren earned her Ph.D. in anthropology and environmental studies from The University of Western Ontario. She has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed journal articles on both human and nonhuman primates and has conducted field research in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Puerto Rico.
