What to Expect
Industrial heat decarbonization is driven by cheap, abundant electricity, strict carbon pricing, and high grid capacity and fossil fuel costs. Unlike the power sector, heat applications still lack standardized, repeatable deployment models and robust business cases and require a specific temperature-based approach.
In this Ideathon, Lux will explore technologies to achieve net-zero targets across the three low-carbon heat verticals reduce, reuse, and replace, showcasing developers’ technologies that can be used in low- (<200 °C) to high-temperature (>1,000 °C) applications and that leverage low-cost electricity or new fuels to develop novel business models to accelerate adoption.
