Juan Cortes

Juan Camilo Cortes is a senior research associate on the Lux Research Energy team, contributing to its coverage of solar and wind renewable energy technologies and electric vehicles. In this role, Camilo covers the intersection between direct power generation and power grid technologies, focusing primarily on the control and integration of distributed energy resources. He also covers technologies related to heat decarbonization, such as thermal energy storage systems and heat pumps.

Camilo holds a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering and an M.Sc. in sustainable energy technology from Delft University of Technology. Prior to joining Lux, Camilo worked at Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research Solliance as a graduate intern researching thin-film tandem photovoltaic technologies. He is based in Lux’s Amsterdam office.
