Dr Minshad Ansari is the Founder and CEO of Bionema Group, a UK-based company developing biological crop protection and soil health solutions. He has over 25 years of experience in biopesticides, biostimulants, biofertilisers, and microbial formulation technologies, and has authored more than 100 scientific publications, five patents, and over 200 trade articles.
After 15 years in academic research, he founded Bionema in 2012 to translate biological science into regulatory-ready, field-proven products. He raised a £0.7 million seed round in 2018, secured over £3 million in Innovate UK funding, and in 2021 led Bionema’s first technology acquisition by Syngenta. He is a recipient of the King’s Award for Innovation 2024 and focuses on reducing reliance on synthetic pesticides and fertilisers through practical biological alternatives.
