He holds a Ph.D.inEnglish with a focus on the philosophy of language from York University, where he conducted interdisciplinary research that brought together scholars from the history and philosophy of science, philosophy of language, and English literature. His research explored how concepts from quantum mechanics were adopted and understood in broader culture, examining the language used in scientific and philosophical papers, popular media, theater, and film. This work highlighted how physicists’ attempts to name quantum phenomena shaped public understanding of the world. His interdisciplinary research earned him a doctoral fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
